Radio on the TV
So services like Absolute Radio, Kiss, Magic and Greatest Hits Radio will no longer be available on TV platforms - at least without using some kind of smart TV app like Radioplayer. Maybe I might discover that Ken Bruce is on Greatest Hits Radio while I'm waiting in a surgery somewhere I probably won't be listening via my TV at home - an actual radio or smart speaker will be more convenient. - www.adambowie.comwww.adambowie.comTuesday 12 March 2024, AM

Some prisons have all the freeview TV channels, some have very few. It is a lottery of who gets what. How can this be fair, just, and equal? Many inmates spend much of their time in their cells – the ill, the disabled, and the retired, for example. Here, we get few TV channels. This can affect our mental health in a negative way. But if we all had the freeview channels available, then our mental health would be affected in a positive way. Can this unfair situation be addressed? We all pay for our TVs the same – can we not all share in the many freeview channels? Have I asked for too much?g. - insidetime.orginsidetime.orgMonday 29 January 2024, PM

The Guardian view on radio plays: an underrated cultural resource that must be preserved
Under Milk Wood became a landmark drama for the BBC's Third Programme, now Radio 3, which is marking the production's 70th anniversary next week with a daily series of five location-specific plays, reprised in a 90-minute Saturday omnibus. Though it remains the UK's biggest single commissioner of plays - and the biggest producer of audio drama in the world - it has taken a battering since quotas protecting key genres on the BBC's radio services were removed in 2017, when Ofcom took over from the BBC Trust. - www.theguardian.comwww.theguardian.comDTT and Wireless Mics Win Out at WRC23
