janet huyton: Why ironic? You can still receive signal from the transmitter.

We really are sick and tired of seeing "no or weak signal" for extended periods or frozen picture with no sound. Ihave only received one reply form the BBC who report no problems. We have a recommended aerial and recabled supply plus signal booster, but the problem persists. As we run a guest house the problem affects our guests as well. I am reluctant to punish the BBC by withholding my licence fee, but have no other course of action as I am not prepared to pay for a service that is not satisfactory. The postcode is LA6 3HH.

Paul Weaire: Please don't be such a baby. You must pay the TV Licence if you have a TV.

If you have signal problems it is YOUR responsibly to sort them out, not the BBCs. You must pay an installer to sort it out for you, if you can't sort it out for yourself.

There is plenty of help on this site to do it yourself if you look.

I am having a problem with my television we purchase a small flat screen TV from M&S as a second tele upstair. The picture has started to break up along with the sound.
I reported it to M&S who told me over the telephone that its the signal not the television.
When I pointed out that all I have two teleivisions in the house and they work ok. one off sky and one off aerial, he said that it was down to how the signal was collected in the television! He checked the signal by the post code and told me that the signal was weak and that was the problem and to keep rebooting the programs. Is this correct. My post code is SK12 1SX

I'm having problems with the HD channel BBCB from Winter Hill.
It's showing full strength signal but bad quality and the picture sometimes drops - this is only on the HD channels. All SD channels are perfect.
I've tried a separate HD box and this shows exactly the same - poor qulity signal on HD.
I've had a new aerial fitted and had the aerial fitter back who tried adjusting the direction of the aerial slightly but it's no better.
Any suggestions.
The Television (Panasonic TXL32D28) when on the "signal condition screen" shows CH54 as 738.17Mhz instead of 738Mhz.

Nigel: If you have any boosters or amplifiers, remove them from your system. Also please see Single frequency interference | ukfree.tv - independent free digital TV advice for some suggestions.

Phil Hamnett: You are predicted to have 100% perfect reception of all services, I don't know who you are speaking to but they would appear to know nothing at all.

Can you please see Freeview intermittent interference | ukfree.tv - independent free digital TV advice for some suggestions.

If you have any boosters or amplifiers, remove them from your system, they will wreck your signals.

You *may* need to fit an attenuator, you can get these for about a fiver.

I am, from taoday, experiencing a strange problem: every five minutes or so, and regardless of the channel, the channel I'm watching switches to another random channel by itself! Is anyone else experiencing this?

Brian any idea what happened at 6:15pm at Winter Hill during the BBC ONE continuity announcement and the beginning of DOCTOR WHO yesterday Sat 07 May 2011. Two dramatic breaks in picture and sound with green picture dispalcement. Was this due to LIGHTNING which was around at the area at the time. Ruined my recording. No power cut here ? Would have recorded it from Moel-y-Parc if I had known.
