G Bryant: Midhurst was the better transmitter for analogue, and will be the better transmitter after switchover.

There is no "Mux 3".

Hi, RH12 3QY
I'm in Warnham, we get quite good Freeview signals from Midhurst but no MUX D at all. I'm assuming that after March 2012 MUX D will become available as the power will be greatly increased, but I am not sure what HD channels will be broadcast then. Will it only be BBCB(HD) on C58? Are there no HD channels bradcast at the moment from Midhurst? I'm quite interested as my long awaited Sony FullHD TV is coming next week.

Vincent: Yes, 14th March 2012 is when you will get more services from Midhurt.

You will get Freeview HD: BBC One HD, BBC HD, ITV1 HD, Channel 4 HD (plus one other by then).

No HD is broadcast at the moment.

I am a freeview viewer on the isle of wight (Cowes). My picture quality seems to reduce significantly or even go completely when large ships are in the solent. Are these ships a likely caused of the problem or is this just pure coincidence?!

Many thanks!

Hi,

Living near Horsham, I use Midhurst and was surprised to find that I couldn't get MuxC on freeview even though it has comparable power to others that I can get.

I think I've figured out what's wrong now:
A number of people local to me watch Heathfield, which is about 180 degrees from Midhurst (so off the back of the beam) and ITV1 Heathfield is on C64 (same as MuxC Midhurst), which I can see on analogue albeit with a lot of patterning.....

John: Yes, that's correct, and it will be the case until switchover. If you provide a full postcode I can be more specific.

Thanks Brian. It's RH13 9XX. Now that I've figured it out, I'm perfectly happy with the situation and don't expect any change until Mar 14th.

I thought my post might be of use to others in my area (like the poster who isn't getting 'Mux3' - He must mean MuxC).
