My arial is tuned to carmel, it is on the roof and I have bought a new TV but have very limited programmes. I do not get Dave or the new drama stations. Do I need a new arial as the one I have is about 20 years old but I have a good picture from it. I am in a spot which might be bad to tune to Swansea. I am SA15 1DY.

My problem is with the Carmel Transmitter been without Freeview TV for two days now. How long is this going to last, we need to know more information as to how long we are going to be without our entertainment.

problems with itv3 5usa picture quality is poor.
chllange and 4seven are ok in the day but a night they get the same problem as the affected channels on the same list.
Signal strenth on c49 c54 c57 c58 are at 80% but the quality level is saying poor
I don't get this problem with other channels. This has been happing now for a few weeks.
Is this due to 4g or the work on the carmel transmiter.
I have a new loft areial with a split booster.

G GUY: I can't find the Bush box on the Argos website, but I'm guessing it looks much the same as this; Freeview Digital Set Top Box | Twin Scart | Goodmans
I've got one of these (ours broke, and it was cheap..) - and it has no manual tuning. Thats not a problem, but for the fact that it will start at the lowest RF channel and work up. If you look at Digital UK's tradeview, you've got Cwmgors just 1km away on Ch24, Kilvey Hill on Ch23, and Preseli on Ch43. Carmel is on Ch60...
I know its a pain, it takes me ages to retune it.
And if you've two transmitters on a similar bearing, it will pick up the lowest first (and frankly, all the transmitters are a similarish direction, but Preseli is so close to Carmel). David Lindsay's solution is to pull out the aerial for the first 30% of the scan, and hopefully it should lock on. Once tuned, never touch it unless you really have to!

How do I manually tune my Bush BU10FVZS1 freeview box?

G GUY: I can't answer your question.
However, what's the problem? If it's tuning to Cwmgors then, as MikeB says, pull the aerial out for the first 30% (or indeed 50%) so as to miss it out.
