Tom Nichols: On checking the BBC status report for transmitters serving your location it appears that the Abercraf relay transmitter was off the air from 08.31 to 09.22 on 4th September 2012 and again today. If your aerial is pointing NNE with the rods vertical you are served by the Abercraf transmitter, however if your aerial is mounted with the rods horizontal and pointing West to Carmel your receiver has locked onto the Abercraf relay when scanning and ignored the stronger Carmel signal. In this event, to receive the correct set of frequencies, clear the channel list, then do a manual tune to C60, C53, C54, C58, C61 and if required C57(HD).Alternatively, if a manual tuning option is not available do a rescan with the aerial unplugged for the first third of the scan to miss out the Abercraf frequencies, then reconnect the aerial for the remainder of the scan.

Hi I have lost bbc channels from Saturday on wards. Previously excellent reception, I can see the top of the Carmel transmitter from our lower windows five miles away. I have retuned several times and manually tuned to c60 (786mhz). The signal strength is still below 70 % with a booster fitted, all other channels are +90%
Please can you help?

Adrian miller: If you can see Carmel at 5 miles, then too much signal is a possibility, maybe driven OTT by the amplifier:

m evans: Check that your TV is tuned to Carmel and not Preseli, which is in the opposite direction.
The tuned channel number is usually given on the signal strength screen. Carmel's channel numbers are given at the top of this page. Let us know if you would like more guidance.

Hi, I know you've already talked about this here, but I have a dvbt usb dongle that came with blaze software- I have windows Vista- and I have tried using windows media player but it just keeps telling me "no channels" when it scans. I googled the yakumo website you gave to download the bda driver, but it doesn't exist anymore.
Any advice would be really appreciated!
