MikeP: Interesting comment. It was ok before the 5/6/19 why should it change after? Are we unable in this country to install reliable communications systems for the general public? The reason for all this
was to allow private multi-national media/communication companies to take over publicly financed and
built, transmission structures.Standard Digital transmission are only available in large urban area. Out in
the sticks don't count.

andrew cresswell: The main transmitter at Mendip (and some of its relays) changed frequencies on 5th June, this has nothing to do with reliability which is generally very good (major transmitter failures are rare - most of the problems that exist are often found to be at the viewer's end). Some of the frequencies now in use are outside of the band which many of the aerials previously installed were designed to receive, and therefore require replacing with wideband aerials. Most viewers who don't have satellite or cable will be eligible for this work to be carried out free of charge, which can be arranged by contacting the Freeview Advice Line (see link below).
