Brian,we live in a very poor position under the Mynydd Bach transmitter. Having purchased a high gain aerial we are getting medium strenghth reception on all 3 channels, however ITV on 58 comes in at quality 6 and is always present while BBC on 61 is quality 1 and comes and goes and HD on 54 is not present at all. Is it just a question of carefully tweaking the aerial? I thought that if ITV had good reception then the aerial must be well alligned? Thanks in advance.

Neilo: You won't see the HD multiplex unless you have Freeview HD equipment.

mr chaplin: Presuming you're not paying Sky for a subscription, see Compare Freeview and Freesat-from-Sky TV | ukfree.tv - independent free digital TV advice for the channels that broadcast on Freeview but not on Freesat-from-Sky.
See Compare Freeview Light and Freesat-from-Sky TV | ukfree.tv - independent free digital TV advice for a comparison of what's available from the Mynydd Bach transmitter with what you can get on satellite.
Digital UK's predictor indicates that you have a very good chance of reliable reception, of all channels, from the Wenvoe transmitter.

I am at present getting a good signal from the Mynydd Bach transmitter but feel rather cheated by the limited amount of channels offered.Would it be possible with a new aerial to receive all digital channels from the wenvoe transmitter?I have been told that it would be difficult if not impossible due to the mountains between ystrad Mynach and Cardiff. My post code is CF82 7EG

John Wakely: Your postcode predicts that you can receive all six multiplexes from Wenvoe. Another option is Freesat, see Compare Freeview Light and Freesat TV | ukfree.tv - independent free digital TV advice .

WILLIAM PALMER: The predicted reception at your location suggests that, subject to there being no local obstructions (trees, tall buildings etc) in the signal path, you should have a good signal available from Wenvoe.
