M Hodson:

Though no one else has reported any problems, as they would be expected to if the transmitter had serious sound problems, I would suggest you check all your aerial connections for damage and/or corrosion. If there are coaxial plugs/sockets unplug them and then refit. That will clear any corrosion/oxidation from the contact surfaces. Also check your signal strengths. they need to be between 60% and 85% - if it is much higher than you have too much signal. A full post code, as requested by the text above the entry box, will let us determine what the signal reception conditions are like at your locality.

Terry O'Dowd: If your TV has a manual tuning function in the menu then you can do a manual tune on the following UHF channels which should restore BBC North West & ITV Granada - C50, C59, C54 (if your TV receives HD channels).

Terry O'Dowd:

The User Manual for your TV set will tell how to access the Manual Tuning option. Before trying to do the manual tuning, enter your full post code into thew Digital UK Coverage Checker at Digital UK - Coverage checker then scroll down to find any entry for Winter Hill that shows the channel numbers used by the multiplexes. Make a note of the numbers and use those to manually tune your TV set.

If you have lost the User Manual, you should be able to find one on-line for your specific make and model of TV.

Experiencing very infrequent partial pixellation of picture on most channels HD or SD. My post code LL22 7TY.
This seems to have started around the last time we were asked to re-tune (Samsung 4k tv and BT You View box)
a few weeks ago. The BT box affected most with direct aerial input, the TV gets its signal via an amplifier/splitter fed from RF output from BT box. I have tried re-tuning again but it still occurs now and again.

Mike Hodson:

Please check all the aerial cables and connections. Unplug all cioaxial plugs and sockets and then refit them. Then check what the signal strenf=gths are for all the multiplexes received. Ideally they should be between 60% and 85%, no more and no less.

MikeP: Thanks for reply - had quick check on HD channels 101 to 106 and 114, all seem to be at 100% for both strength and quality. The problem seems to have started around the time BBC2 changed to BBC2 Wales and we were asked to retune in early December(?)! Will do signal strength test for other channels/muxes when not interrupting wifes viewing!

Mike Hodson:

100% is far too high, it needs to be reduced.
