Dear Sir,
I am a local councillor for the Mearns area. A number of residents have reported a recent loss of service to me following the recent work conducted, parimarily in the DD10 0SJ area. Returning has been advised but the problems have been persistent, including channel signal being very poor on the few returning channels.
Kindest Regards
Leigh

Leigh Wilson:
Looking at the Digital UK website for planned engineering works at Digital UK | Planned engineering works shows that the Durris transmitter could be on reduced power, which would likely give the reduced service being experienced. Please advise all those affected to NOT RETUNE as that will only delete all the correctly tuned services. Digital UK do not show when this work will be completed.

Leigh Wilson: Anyone suffering reception problems following the recent frequency changes should contact the Freeview Advice Line (see link below) who can arrange for a replacement wideband aerial to be fitted (free of charge for households who don't have satellite or cable).

The Durris Transmitter page should be updated with the correct channel numbers. These should be ARQB ch30, COM7 ch55, and COM8 ch56.

Is there a problem with the Dorris transmitter as I am getting a poor signal on my tv for the last two weeks

Ivan Douglas: Durris is a main transmitter, if there were a fault there would be many complaints and it would have been fixed in much less time than 2 weeks, so it's far more likely that there is a fault at your end somewhere. Have you checked for any loose or damaged cables or connections behind your TV?

Can you advise please if the Dorris transmitter is working on reduced power? Since The 25th we have been loosing channels at various times of the day including digital radio channels through the TV..since 8.37 this morning there has been a complete break of the channels on PSB2, since 13.03 we have had picturisation on the channels on PSB2. Yesterday for most of the daylight hours we had no picture on both PSB1 and PSB2;, the picture then returned for the evening. In the summer we do have problems due to leaves and needles on the trees but since the leaves dropped we have had no issues until this week. A sudden, immediate break in service would appear to indicate a sudden weakening of the signal.. My postcode is AB31 5RT. As at 13.27 PSB1 channels have returned to normal but PSB2 channels report no signal. They will probably come back in the early evening! Very frustrating!
