Good afternoon, any chance the frquency/channel details for Durris Transmitter could be updated following the August 2018 retune? I find this page is my first point of reference as it is extremely handy and understandable.

Regards,
Russ

Russ:

This website is owned by 'Briantist' and only he can do any updates. However, he has not done any for some months now, we regular contributors do not know why.

If you require details of transmitters in your area please go to the Digital UK Coverage Checker at Digital UK - Coverage checker and enter the required information.

Steve Wilson:

Transmitters are not turn off at night, so you either have an aerail fault or else interference caused by something operated with a timer.

Hi, Can anyone explain why the Rosehearty transmitter on has a fraction of the channels that the Durris transmitter has. I know that Durris is the main one and Rosehearty is a relay, but would just like to know why we in the Fraserburgh area have far less freeview channels.

Gary Duthie: Because Rosehearty only serves a few thousand homes and therefore the commercial broadcasters don't think they would get enough extra viewers to make a worthwhile return on the costs of providing their channels. There are over 1,100+ transmitters to cover 99.5% of UK housholds and the commercial broadcasters can reach over 90% of them by broadcasting their channels from 80 or so main transmitters. The vast majority of Freeview channels are also available on Freesat if you want more channels and are unable to receive them from Durris.

J Chapman: There was engineering work taking place overnight. You may need to retune to restore your channels if any are missing, as some services have now changed frequency.

Transmitter engineering: Sirs, since the engineering work on the Durris Trasmitter I have not been able to receive ANY t v channels excepting those received via by B T Box. I have tried to re tune, a procedure I am familiar with , but always see that there are no channels being received during and after this operation has been completed.
I continue to receive a screen message to say Weak or No Signal but I am convinced there is a strong signal available to my flat. This is because I have another smaller set in my bedroom which takes its signal from the same arial socket and no other tenants in my block are having this problem.
Before the engineering work took place at Durris all channels worked well. I have been away for a while and have returned to exactly the same situation that prevailed before I went away.
Whist attempting to retune the auto tuning message on screen shows the green bar percentage increasing with time so I assume its trying to find channels but the end game is no channels received. Please help me overcome this problem as I am an OAP and need my television so much.

Douglas Gove: Do the missing channels return if you connect your TV to the aerial socket in the bedroom and retune? If they do, you should contact whoever is responsible for building maintenance and get them to send someone to check the aerial socket your TV is usually connected to.
