I am not receiving channels on Com 5 at DN17 3UG with a loft aerial. I have tried re-tuning plus manual tuning. The arail has been used for many years in the same position in the loft. What can I do to improve this please?

Ray Rogers: At just 38km from Belmont, you should be getting a very good signal, and if the transmitter is fine, and the aerial hasn't moved, that leaves the wiring in between. Your losing a mux, which is the classic sympton of an aerial system problem. Check back from the set - could be as simple as a loose connection.

peter littlewood: If its your old and new TV, then its likely to be your signal - perhaps local interference or sudden changes in signal strength. But that would normally also have an effect on the picture. An idea of the signal strength, the type of system and the postcode are all needed.

Ian parker: Since the transmitter is working fine, its probably your system (and retuning just made it more difficult to resolve). Check signal strength - HD muxs might have gone first if you've a problem with your system, so check each part of the signal chain.

MikeB: Same sound related problem at NG24 2NL. Intermittent and began a few weeks ago. Roof top aerial - picture quality consistently good.

JohnS:
Please check the signal strengths being reported by your TV set. In Newark you may have too strong a signal. Yopu should aim to have a strength between 50% and 85% and no higher. If you have too much signal, then you need to reduce it by using an attenuator inserted in the aerial feed to the TV equipment.

Hi Brian.
Do you have any idea about the local TV stations, mine is ESTUARY which I can get most of the time with a good signal here in Bridlington.
