Hello, I live in Portslade so why do I not get very many channels from the Portslade Transmitter?
Kind regards
Matt

Matt De Luca: Because it carries only Public Service channels. See here for an explanation:

It may be worth seeing if you can receive the full service from another transmitter. The power of Whitehawk Hill is greater than the former analogue.

My daughter's just moved house from Poet's Corner, Hove to Hangleton and now can't get any reception on her TV - says weak or no signal. Why might this be and how do we correct it? There's an aerial on the roof .... :(

Viv Lambert: The most common cause of such an occurrence is that it's tuned to the wrong transmitter. Due to the terrain, in Hove reception possibilities vary. There are some small transmitters which fill in coverage and which may therefore have been picked up in lieu of Whitehawk Hill (adjacent to the racecourse), if your daughter's aerial faces it.
Knowledge of the exact location in the form of postcode would allow an idea of what transmitters may be receivable. From this we can check whether the TV is tuned to the transmitter to which the aerial faces or to another one.
