Hi, I have a JVC tv in my bedroom and have recently tuned in to receive digital, which is built I (I never used this before as it was connected to a sky box.
Every time I turn the tv off and back on again, I have to retune it all as it loses all the channels. My tv downstairs works fine so I know it isn't an aerial problem. I have tried restoring to factory settings but this doesn't work.
Please can't anyone help? Thanks!

Chloe: Without knowing the model number of the JVC TV, but if after having re-tuned and you selected to store the channels found, as this is not done automatically on every device, and yet you have lost them again after having switched the TV off completely then that's inclined to point to a fault in the tuners memory chip.
This said taking it that you genuinely carried out a factory reset, as this fault is usually always caused by the TV having picked up more channels than its memory can store hence they are lost on switch off, and if you have already carried out the reset then there isn't anything else you can do.
Just as a test though, carry out a re-tune without the aerial connected, then after re-connecting again give the set a second scan.

I've just retuned my freeview box so as to be able to receive the BBC channels, which have altered. However, having done this, the BBC News Channel now automatically reverts to BBC1. How do I get the News Channel to stay there ?

Rod - have you had a digital receiver before or is this your first one ? - possibly need an aerial upgrade - I know this is vague but without knowing more its difficult to say - without putting some test equipment to see what the signal strength is like

kev askey: As you are virtually the next door neighbour to Sutton Coldfields mast try taking the aerial out of the TV and carrying out a re-scan with only a short (about 12" or so) piece of wire inserted into the inner part of the aerial socket and see what transpires, or better still a set top aerial should you have access to one.
What model of Tevion do you have?
