By providing a full postcode (such as W1A 1AA), national grid reference (for example SE123456) or latitude, longitude pair (like 54, -0.5) this page will provide a map, terrain plot and detailed information of the location showing the UK and RoI television transmitters that it is possible you receive Freeview, Freeview HD, Youview, BT TV and Saorview from.
(Don't know your postcode? Find it at Post Office Postcode finder).
UK Free TV uniquely shows you transmitter coverage maps, aerial to transmitter terrain plots, the closest 10 mobile phone masts (for possible 5G-at-800 interference) as well as tabulated information (sorted by direction, by received signal strength, by frequency, by service names or by transmitter name).

Robert Dallenger: More than 1/2 our viewing is from the PVR [Sony] so I have noticed a lot of these blanks recently. If you rewind and play over the information is there. I assumed it was just our machine approaching capacity [again]. A really poor means of recording in my opinion; how do you 'lend' someone a 'tape' like the old days?
Our signal is by aerial, from Emley Moor or Bilsdale. We have no set top box or Sky.

When you think we will get BBC1 Look North from Emley Moor on 101?
I've tried Freesat too and they too do the red slide saying retune to 1.
Yet I'm told Sky have it sorted and do Look North Leeds in HD requiring no changing channel at 18:30.

David: Sky viewers do not get regional news on BBC One HD as Sky boxes receive the same BBC channels from the same satellites as Freesat boxes, whoever told you that was misinformed. The BBC have said they want to start rolling out all their regional versions of BBC One and BBC Two nations in HD during their new charter period which begins next year. No firm dates have been announced but it seems likely that HD regions will start to appear on satellite and Freeview next year.

Thanks for that info.
Yes I was told wrong it is the ITV Calendar that they get in HD from Leeds at 6pm. from Sky and Emley Moor ITV does Granada on Freeview and not Leeds.

Does anyone know if channel 74 (True Christmas) on Freeview, they are transmitting or not, around the country or just in one area?

Nigel Archer: True Christmas (74) is broadcast by main stations fitted with an additional "local" multiplex, the aerial used by said multiplex designed to radiate in a highly directional pattern, and although both stations which cover your area (Belmont and Emley Moor) are equipped with local multiplexes, unfortunately you are located well outside of the coverage area of said multiplex from both stations.

Wednesday 9th November 2016 - Tacolneston, Norfolk transmitter - supposedly no transmitter problems, but TV (NR19 2XQ) worked fine early morning. No TV in evening - re-tune - no signal at all detected. Yet, Thursday 10th November 2016 attempted re-tune and worked fine. Unfortunately the transmitter must have been dishy out weak signals as it affected HDD recording device and no ITV 1WW programme was recorded - just a frozen picture. Had to watch TV on computer and even then the picture was pixellated. Why don't they tell us the truth?

Hilary Woodward:
Firstly if the transmitter had a fault a great many thousands of people would have been affected and sites such as this would have been inundated with queries - but they haven't.
You are only 24 km/15 miles away from a powerful main transmitter and even if the signal strength was reduced you are close enough to not notice any significant difference.
The mistake was to do a retune! Never do that unless there are new serviced added, doing it as you have only loses whatever services may have been available, so is counter-productive.
It is likely that your receiving equipment had/has a fault. You should check all the wiring from the aerial to the recorder and the TV.

I was away from UK for 5 years and got back 2 months ago and the entire country seems to have moved to digital now. Back in 2010 I could watch the basic 5 channels through my antenna, but now when I connect my TV to the antenna, nothing comes up. I have retuned it several times but to no avail.
My TV is not Freeview enabled, does that mean, I need to have a Freeview box to connect to my aerial and the old fashioned way of connecting the aerial straight to an old fashioned TV won't work anymore?

PR: The UK completed the switch to digital TV back in 2012, in fact there are now only a handful of countries elsewhere in the world still using analogue TV. You will indeed need a Freeview box in order to use a TV which doesn't have Freeview built in. Although your TV may not be HD it would be worth getting a Freeview HD box as you will still gain more channels and avoid the need to buy another new box again in a couple of years. There also aren't many standard definition Freeview boxes available now, as most people who needed one will have bought one a few years ago. I use the Manhattan Plaza HD-T2 box with my bedroom TV (link below) which has worked well for the 12 months or so that I've had it.
