Update - apart from the transmitter being on the Planned Engineering list this week where -
"Screen may go black on some or all channels" -
the BBC update now states From 1:01pm to 3:21pm on 18th Nov 2024 Off the air due to essential engineering, so you should have you signal back.

I hope you did not try to retune when you had No signal, you cannot tune to signals that aren't there. The usual effect is to clear your correct tuning and you have to try again when signals are normal.

Jim Gray:

I wouldn't go climbing on your roof in the current inclement weather conditions, or even when it improves a bit unless you have proper roof ladders etc.

You ought to able to check it's still pointing correctly without going on the roof, it should be approximately compass bearing 216 degrees, that's 9 degrees S of SW, and it's rods (or squashed Xs) should be horizontal. Also check that the coax downlead isn't flapping in the wind.
Check all the accessible coax connections behind your TV and any wall plate etc. checking for water ingress or corrosion.

As you are only 14km from the transmitter, I would not have expected those figures to be as bad, even with the planned engineering, but check you don't have any "new" obstructions on the line of sight to the transmitter, new tall buildings, trees grown very tall, close-by scaffolding or other construction.
If you find any water ingress in the coax or any wall plate etc. you may want to check the coax for damage to the sheath or ingress into the aerial connection box (in better weather!).

When you say intermittent issues - is this happening at certain times of day that are similar from day to day?

Mike Howard:

Even though the transmitter isn't on the current list (we know that the lists aren't always 100% accurate), my suspicion is that work is still continuing as per the post post just before yours.

Check on one (or more) of your TV's Tuning sections for the Signal Strength and Quality figures for each multiplex's UHF channel and post the figures for each when C34 has no signal and when it is "normal".

The other check you could do, is see if your immediate neighbours are experiencing the same issue.

Was it not on at 1630 today, according to my EPG? Not sure when it was on before or when on next as we can't help as this is not their website. There are also two episodes on tptvencore.co.uk
See https://talkingpicturestv.co.uk/contact-tptv/ for various ways to contact them.

Roger:

Arqiva who do the transmitter work never give any details about the work or duration, so the automated feeds never have any detail as already said by Stevensonln1.
However, as you haven't given a full postcode we can't offer any constructive advice about your predicted reception, there may be reasons in your locale why some UHF channels have poorer reception, there might also be potential issues with interference.
So a full postcode and any information about reception of the other multiplex's UHF channels eg. Signal Strength and Quality figures (somewhere in your tuning section, maybe under Test) as well as UHF C30 would be good.
