Below are all of bernard hunt's postings, with the most recent are at the bottom of the page.In the headline calendar for 12th october there is no mention of ridge hill west [itv 1west on tx channel 29 ] increasing from 5kw which it has been on since april this year, to 20kw .
This will give the same coverage footprint as central. Although the news coverage is primarily aimed at Gloucestershire , it will be welcomed in herefordshire, south shropshire and west worcs .digital uk postcode predictor is even showing 99% reception in many parts of kidderminster ! [see dy10 2nl example]

RIDGE HILL WEST. Brian, thank you. Clearly the 5kw to 20kw WILL alter the radiation pattern which is quite restricted at the moment and enable retunes for more sets to lock it into their memory.
Digital Uk have long admitted a misprint for ch29 ridge hill west in some of their predictions it should read '12th Oct 2011 .psb late power up ' NOT 2012 . see digital uk postcode predictor example hr8 1jq the walled garden'

Mike & brian.Ridge Hill West. Thanks for your thoughts, let me add a few facts. The analogue Itv1 west {ch30]now gone WAS indeed fed into a smaller mast panel at 5kw it was directional to north Glos where its performance was feeble ! That panel is now disused and may have a future life as cmty tv for Glos! The ch29 multiplex is described as a 'minimux' as it ONLY carries Itv1 west and no others [perhaps uniquely] as a direct feed from mendip. It will be fed at 20kw [upped from 5kw on 12-10-11] It is fed into the same high power panels as the 'central ones' . That is why its 'footprint' is the same as the 'central' multiplexes and why Digital Uk Postcode predictors show identical coverage for 'central d3+4' and 'west Itv1 d3+4' throughout most of hfds, north glos ,south shrops and west worcs. The current 5kw means a current lower signal than it will be from 12th Oct .As for the 'west' d3+4 carrying 'BBC1 West' in the future , Digital Uk spokesman took a sharp intake of breath and said 'No plans AT THE MOMENT' ! PS.Digital Uk predictors are yet to correct dates for ridge hill on some addresses from '2012 powered up' to the factual ' 12th Oct 2011 psb late power-up'

Briantist Ridge Hill West. Thanks for your interest. Just one final point, none of the Ridge Hill relays will be carrying Itv1 West, anyone wanting 'West' will have to 're-orientate' to Ridge Hill direct if they are able to .

RIDGE HILL WEST TXER.ITV1 WEST. Please note that Digital Uk deny that Itv1 West can be received at the same footprint and signal levels as Itv1 Central and exclude it from their reception predictions north and west of the R-hill Txer. BUT the west and central signals ARE THE SAME [20 kw]and can be enjoyed by all, write in 'CH29' under Itv Central on your printout !
It appears to be a 'political' decision by Digital UK so as not to 'offend' Central TV ! (HR74AE,57HI)

To Bill Gee.Best to enter your postcode on the digital uk postcodechecker site and check for reception of Oxford{beckley] The reason you only get 31 or so is because Ascot' is only a low power 3channel relay, for the full range of six transmitters you will need to use a cd/h or wideband aerial. I am astonished at the high number of spelling and grammar mistakes in contributions, surely it only takes a few seconds to look again before pressing the 'post your comment' button ?

In this article txt svcs 200 etc to manu' all'n 899 are listed in numerical order but gen' channels 1 upwards to adult channels 198 are listed in reverse order . Could this be relaid out so as to read more logically ? Also could the footnote re 100 hd navigation page be included at the end of the HD channels section ?

does anyone know what sky is appealing about freeview channels 101 to 199 in the new epg supposed to be upgraded from 19-09-12? are they just being awkward ? will the appeal fail anyway and they are just being 'bloody-minded'?

Hereford
as an engineer covering herefordshire and west glos, I notice that digital uk postcode checker shows increased power levels post june 2012 for Mendip Oxford and some other 6 multiplex main transmitters. Is there a 'final' powerup that we have not been told about ? It is not related to adjacent main transmitters , so is it a 'final power up ' or what ?
