Thomas just what are you going to record?
I would think think you will set recorder on BBC2 analogue to start at just before midnight and record for say a couple of hours.
11-20pm to 12-20am is The Death Of Respect.
Will you be able to set up a recording of digital without being there to physicaly re-scan/setup?

Brian, what do we expect to happen, say regarding main station at Emley Moor and the various relays?
Do they have a person at each relay site or is it automatic?

No, we pay a liecence fee to the Government to have the authority to watch any broadcast TV. Not to watch the BBC only.
It just so happens the money to run the BBC is given to the BBC by the Government.
Therfore I feel all liecence payers should have all the transmission that the main stations transmit.

Are prices of HD boxes resonable yet, any of the £20/35 ones still around that were being sold off.

Thanks Brian both those post are very helpful.
Think the ITV on analogue being on number 2 inplace of number 3 will cause the old folk a problem who use number 3 for ITV1, will standby for a call over the fence in the morning "lost my ITV".
The lady uses the analogue for the main 5 programs and a Freeview box for the others.

Mart G in my view it is better to get the Freesatellite from Sky at a one off £175 (No subscription) than Freesat.

Yes same here near Leeds Belmont is still more power and getting in with its BBC local Lincoln news and not the local news from Leeds.
I guess a lot of Joe Publics will be joining the Peter Levvy fan club tonight, what a surprise for them.

Hacker, problem solved, slight out of line aerial, must have been stroger wind today than I thought.
