Comparison of analogue and digital signal levels
I've been meaning to add this to the site for ages, as it has been asked for quite a few times.
On each and every transmitter page there is now a section titled "Comparison of analogue and digital signal levels", below the "Transmission frequencies" section.
This section shows the ERP levels for each of the current, future and past broadcasts from the transmitter.
I've added is some coloured bars to make things clearer.
The above example is from Freeview on Emley Moor TV transmitter - ukfree.tv - independent free digital TV advice.

The digital signal from most transmitters is -7dB on the analogue. How does this affect the coverage area?
Is the reason for doing this due to the way in which digital pictures don't degrade as analogues do? And therefore, does DVB-T at -7dB equate to roughly the same coverage as analogue?

What causes digital signal quality to be very low, say 10%, if signal strength is relatively high, say 70%. (+51.14,-000.04)
