How nice to be able to receive Radio Wales on Dab today now that the Rhymney Dab Transmitter was off air!!!
Managed to receive it on 12A 223.936MHz , 12C 227.360MHz 7 12D 229.072MHz.
Why do we need Rhymney at such a high level (1KW) that it is blocking reception of other Transmitter masts in the South Wales Area?
The Ebbw Vale Transmitter at hilltop comes in a perfectly error-free signal in this area but is blocked when the Rhymney TX is on.
Obviously the correct reception tests have not been done.
Rhymney Dab TX completely desenses the front end of receivers in this area that they cannot receive anything else!!!
Recommend that power should be reduced to 20 Watts ERP.
1KW from this TX is not needed due to enough signal from the Ebbw Vale TX for this area.
