BBC - About the BBC: A change to the BBC HD channels on satellite on 27 September
As you may recall, we moved many of our services on satellite over to Astra 1N earlier this year. This change meant that we were able to make more efficient use of the valuable satellite capacity available on our HD transponder. Over the last year, we have worked closely with our colleagues at Sky, Freesat and SES to investigate how we can continue to make the most efficient use of our satellite capacity in light of improving technology. - bbc.co.ukBBC - Research and Development: RadioDNS live on national radio networks
The Radio 1 and 1Xtra services are built from the same systems that power their respective homepages, allowing us to automatically reuse content across devices with zero extra effort - it's truly cross-platform. Receivers which support the standard are now available in the shops, and our colleagues in UK commercial radio and around the world have also been busy launching services - meaning your radio just got smarter. We first started working on experiments with RadioDNS around 3 and a half years ago and have learned a lot along the way. - bbc.co.uk

Speaking from experience, this is a service that you'll use - a lot. Opportunities to download decent programmes to replace the rather variable in-flight services is something that is a real benefit. It's been possible for a while on desktops but to have this on some mobile devices is a real benefit. - mediauk.com

Without using any 3G connection since they didn't really exist at the time for many, you could press a button or two and watch live television. It delivered live TV and radio using an inbuilt DAB chip. So it's disappointing to see the new iOS BBC iPlayer app, which now has a download facility for television programmes, apparently ignore radio listeners. - mediauk.com

I've attended a few meetings in Paris, working with the automotive industry alongside internet radio organisation the IMDA. No wonder that, to my slight embarrassment, a demo of the service-following technology that RadioDNS enables was greeted by a round of applause Then, up to SBD, the global company who look at vehicle security and telematics systems, who operate out of an old brewery in an idyllic village near Milton Keynes. - mediauk.comTuesday 04 September 2012, PM

One of the most compelling subplots in the ongoing narrative of the phone-hacking scandal has been the changing comparative fortunes of these two Murdoch siblings.
