This week we launch MediaGuardian 25 our survey of Britain's 25 most important media companies, covering TV, radio, newspapers, magazines, music and digital. Starting with an analysis of ITV, we'll review the state of the big media players. When Adam Crozier was unveiled as chief executive in January 2010 a recession-scarred ITV was struggling to recover from a 2.7bn annual loss and had a 1bn debt and pension deficit, leaving jaded investors valuing it at a tepid 56p a share. - guardian.co.ukwww.guardian.co.ukBBC - The Editors: BBC World News moves to Broadcasting House
Relaunching and rebranding every hour of its 24 hours of output to give audiences around the world a new exciting polished HD product has made that huge project even more challenging. Hopefully on Monday at 1200 GMT, the hard work of our 100 dedicated staff will give our audiences a bolder, brighter, more engaging look for the channel they trust to give them independent, objective news and analysis from more correspondents, in more locations, than any other international broadcaster. Meticulous planning began about three years ago - everything from the new look of our studios to bicycle parking. - bbc.co.ukwww.bbc.co.ukBBC World News goes upmarket with move to £1bn London headquarters - Media - guardian.co.uk
The relaunch includes an on air rebrand, giving the channel a bright new look and a tighter focus on daily news and specific regions. The strategy behind the revamp is to improve the quality and range of output, as well as win new viewers for BBC World News, which reaches a potential global audience of 239 million and has around 3 million Facebook followers. The aim is for the higher-quality programming on the channel to attract more viewers, particularly those attractive to upmarket advertisers and sponsors. - guardian.co.ukwww.guardian.co.ukYouView seeks new advertising agency partner

The number of Americans who pay for cable-like TV products is declining, says a research forecast that claims subscriptions peaked at nearly 101 million in 2011 but will decline to less than 95 million by 2017.
