thinkbroadband :: Enterprising soul creates BBC iPlayer download app for Mac

The iPlayer Downloader can be downloaded from sourceforge.net or macupdate.com. We assume the software is creating the files by accessing the Flash based iPlayer website, so video quality will not match the full PC version, but file sizes will be smaller. How long this software will be available is unclear, given the fact the BBC acted over someone publishing knitting patterns for Doctor Who monsters, circumventing its copyright protection mechanisms may result in another action. - thinkbroadband.com

Microsofts Ballmer pelted with eggs | Business | guardian.co.uk

Microsoft's chief executive, Steve Ballmer, narrowly avoided getting egg on his face on Monday when a furious Hungarian student began pelting him with missiles during a lecture at a university in Budapest. In an incident caught on video which has fast become a YouTube hit, the boss of the world's biggest software company was obliged to take cover under a desk at Corvinus University to avoid a one-man protest by a portly, bespectacled individual in a white shirt. The interruption happened just as Ballmer began addressing the students by asking, in avuncular fashion, how many of them were studying for imminent exams. - guardian.co.uk

Croatian state broadcaster nicks BBC web site design - The INQUIRER

Vijesti.net has a rather damning comparision of the two state broadcasters' sites here where it would appear that the two sites were indeed separated at birth. As our knowledge of Serbo-Croat is rudimentary at best and web translation services insist on telling us things such as 'then then remain indefinitely of how this yes' and 'smo does raspitati who is who leg is doing', we feel unable to comment on the detail of the accusations.
