Read this: Long Term Review: Samsung UE32 F6510 SmartHub TV
Summary: As ever, this is a long and tediously detailed review but some people like them. This television has a Freesat tuner inside it. I've not used it though - I don't have a satellite dish five years ago it was either a dish or a neighbour's tree, and I preferred the tree. - mediauk.com

Briantist: Just an observation on the above review - I've been a big fan of the Samsung 6 series for the past couple of years (good value for a highish spec TV), and have often recommended it.
However, I can confirm that the TV certainly does have an HD tuner, and I'm mystified that the reviewer didn't notice!
BTW - the 6710 (the white version)/6500 has a 400hz screen - if you buying the 40in and above version, try the 6740 instead - exactly the same price as the 6500 in 40in, but a 600hz screen instead this year.

MikeB: I remember looking at one of these sets.
There is an HD tuner in it, but it's MPEG4/DVB-S2.
As Freeview HD uses MPEG4/DVB-T2, which became a standard after the TV came out, and not MPEG4/DVB-T, the set can only do HD from satellite only.
Given that there are no extra channels in HD on Freeview, this is hardly a problem, unless you've not got a dish connection.

Briantist: The LED 6 series has had an Freeview HD tuner since they came out (the 2011 D6530 - http://www.samsung.com/uk…pec) - in fact the Freesat tuner was put in in 2012.
Samsung have the habit of being a bit unclear on their specs, which makes the current F model look a bit strange - 'DVB-T/C/S2' can be read several different ways, but the link above makes it clear that its always had a 'DTV Reception DVB-T2 / C '.

Briantist: Its easily done, Samsung have the annoying habit of using series numbers 4-8 over and over again - a six series from five years ago will have almost nothing in common with this years model.
It would be nice if Samsung made life easier for everyone..: - )
