I believe that we have by the nature of our business and obligation to be aware of connect with and understand their lives concerns and needs of those who are not insured.

I believe we are in breach of that obligation that is increasingly fractured Britain we are comfortably with the elite with little awareness contact or connection with those who are not of the Elite it's what I want to explore with you today and

Well, how we can begin to remedy it it's about exclusion, it's about disconnection.

It's about alienation, but it's also about diversity and the digital age and why it renders the time in which we live out the most challenging and difficult yet potentially the most exciting of any age in the modern Media history the completely man-made grenfell disaster has proved beyond all other things How Little We Know and how dangerous the disconnect is on that morning of the 14th of June in the middle of one of the very wealthiest Boroughs in one of the richest cities in the world of Fire engulfs the 24 stories grenfell Tower

I heard of the Cross London to the tower and made it up the many floors to have flat the door was unlocked the flat was in chaos the baby was screaming I made up a feed and carried her down to my mini at 3 a.m.

Arrived the maternity unit at University College Hospital very hospital where she had been born sorry so there's only one way baby is coming here and this isn't it? We can't help eventually at 5:30 in the morning Camden social services took the baby off me despite our best endeavours.

Jan the baby's mum died 2 months later for a heroin and barbiturates.

I wondered to this day.

What eventually became of her child.

I thought about her and about Joan as I stood below the smoking remains of grenfell Tower and I thought about the Gulf between us all and made the demonstrations around the lower part of the building after the Firework rise of where were you?
