Are there any planned engineering works or unexpected transmitter faults on the Hemdean (Reading, England) mast?
No problems on any service. 
UK Free TV shows the coverage area for a radio transmitter as a coloured overlay (orange for FM, other colours for DAB) on the grey map. We have computed the coverage by combining the terrain with the official radiation pattern. A single click will select the transmitter to view the coverage for a single site, and a double click goes to a page showing full details. The Ibthorpe transmitter only has the Berks & North Hants Local mux on Block 12D: 229.072 MHz.
Can't find a specific coverage map for the transmitter but the Mux operated by NOW Digital has transmitters at Basingstoke, Bracknell, Dorking Cobbetts Lane (Yateley), Hannington, Hemdean, Hyde Farm Maidenhead, Ibthorpe, Membury, Newbury VHF which of course operate as an SFN and this is the coverage map for the mux -
