Are there any planned engineering works or unexpected transmitter faults on the Dolgellau (Gwynedd, Wales) mast?

UK Free TV shows the coverage area for a radio transmitter as a coloured overlay (orange for FM, other colours for DAB) on the grey map. We have computed the coverage by combining the terrain with the official radiation pattern. A single click will select the transmitter to view the coverage for a single site, and a double click goes to a page showing full details. Click on the buttons in the right-hand corner of the map to choose from different frequencies (or multiplexes for DAB).

BBC Radio 2 and Radio 3 on FM in Dolgellau has very bad crackling and interference.

Radio 1, Radio 4 and Radio Cymru are perfectly fine.

I have tried three different radio's and they are all operating the same way crackling and hissing just on Radio 2 and Radio 3.

Today 12/3/2015 this afternoon Radio 2 was just impossible to listen to.

I listen to Radio 2 most days and I know the reception is far better than it is at the moment.

Not sure how to report this problem so I'll start on this website :-)

I have had intermittent problems recently with receiving all the channels on the PSB2 D3+4 C55 frequency in Dolgellau.
These are ITV, S4C, Ch5, ITV2, Ch4, Ch4+1, More4, Film4, ITV4 and ITV+1.
All the other channels are fine so I can only guess that there is an intermittent fault with the transmitter and not a fault with my TV or aerial ?

Just wondered how to report the problem and if anyone else has had similar issues ?

G Edwards: The Dolgellau transmitter is group C/D however if you are fitting a new aerial a wideband aerial such a a log periodic type will be more future proof (most of the group C/D band will be handed over for mobile broadband use in 2020 requiring transmitters to move to lower frequencies which won't get such good receiption on group C/D aerials and will therefore require replacement of most group C/D aerials in the next few years).

Hi I'm having problems with poor quality on all channels.
In Dolgellau.
Was perfect in January, the last time I was here.
Are there any current issues with the transmitter?
Signal strength typically 70%
Signal quality low about 10 to 30%.
Any chance of an email reply,?

Thank you
