We can no longer receive XFM through the Tyne and Wear multiplex.
Is anyone else having this problem? Can anyone in the know comment on why this would be?
Just to clarify - we can receive ALL the other channels broadcast on the Tyne and Wear multiplex EXCEPT XFM We were able to receive XFM up until around 2 months ago. We only live a couple of miles away from the Fenham transmitter and we have noticed this problem on multiple DAB radios.

Chris: This is nearly a year old, so might not be related to your issue:
Can't Get Xfm On Digital Radio? - Xfm
According to Ofcom, XFM is carried on the Tyne & Wear mux which is on 11C. This also carries Metro, Magic, Kiss, Absolute Classic Rock, Absolute Radio 60s, Kerrang!, BBC Newcastle and Heat. Do you have these? If not, can you manually scan 11C?

XFM is no longer available on Tyne & Wear Mix. It has been discontinued with no offical explanation. It is still available on the neighbouring Teeside Mix but I need to drive about 8 miles south to pick this up. I tried contacting xfm but they themselves told me that they do not know the reason. Another person I spoke to at xfm did not understand the question. It seems that while DAB service can be arbitrarily revoked without having to account to anyone and make way for bigger stations.

Vaughan: Commercial broadcasters are under no obligation to provide an explanation for their actions.
The answer would appear be to do with the fact that the North East regional multiplex is to close and that Smooth, Real and Crapital need to be on DAB as a requirement of their FM licences.

I'm puzzled as to why Gold will no longer be available in Newcastle- I've heard the looped broadcasts on the station, but it fails to say why. Can anyone here offer me a possible explanation?

Richard Crozier: I have found many dab stations have realy bad reception just in the past few days all over Newcastle and Gateshead, trying to find out if there are issues or if it is my car. BBC Newcastle is now one of the worst.
