Hello in northampton dab signal is very poor I've tried this on 8 different radios . The only stations with good signal are the very local ones ,
But why can't we get a good signal on classic fm or magic chilled etc SDL national is the weakest and then it's the one from Daventry.
The only way I can pick up classic fm is to go in the loft and even then it's weak and breaks signal
Postcode NN4 8NN
I understand uk free doesn't control the DAB transmission but if you could have this sorted would appreciate!
We should have strong signal on all stations

Hi,
Absolute 80's (on the SDL National Mux) have just said on Facebook that their coverage has increased.
Do we know which masts they've brought on line? What their future plans are?
Also do they have a faults page? As my coverage, which is normally very good, was dire over the weekend in the East Midlands!
Thanks

Pw69: There are 19 new transmitters which have been brought on air over the last few weeks and are now carrying the SDL multiplex (see link below). I'm not aware of any page listing reported faults or planned engineering works for SDL.

We contributors have said many, many times that the owner of this site is the only person who can do any updates and that he is not currently available. So the site has not been updated for some months.
If you require channel allocation or reception predictions then please look at the Digital UK website pages, such as that at http://www.digitaluk.co.u…ker.

Are you able to tell me why I can no longer receive PlanetbRock Radio on Wolverhampton & Shropshire 11B. In fact I cannot tune into this station at all on Wolverhampton & Shropshire.
I now receive Greatest Hits Radio on 11B.
I hope you can help.
Many thanks

As the owner of a national DAB licence SDL should at least match the coverage of digital 1 and that would only bring them up to a poor second compared to the BBC muliplex

Ray Dring: SDL will never match the coverage of Digital One. Their business model makes that impossible as it would then become far too expensive for the broadcasters to afford. There is also no chance of Digital One matching the BBC's coverage as it would again be far too expensive. The BBC decided that they would aim to match Radio 1-4 FM coverage with DAB, which has required hundreds of transmitters, most of which only added small areas of unique coverage (i.e. areas that aren't already covered by an existing high powered transmitter) in an approach which would never be viable for any commercial operator, as the broadcasters aren't prepared to cover the huge costs required to provide that level of coverage.
