By providing a full postcode (such as W1A 1AA), national grid reference (for example SE123456) or latitude, longitude pair (like 54, -0.5) this page will provide a map, terrain plot and detailed information of the location showing the UK and RoI television transmitters that it is possible you receive Freeview, Freeview HD, Youview, BT TV and Saorview from.

(Don't know your postcode? Find it at Post Office Postcode finder).

UK Free TV uniquely shows you transmitter coverage maps, aerial to transmitter terrain plots, the closest 10 mobile phone masts (for possible 5G-at-800 interference) as well as tabulated information (sorted by direction, by received signal strength, by frequency, by service names or by transmitter name).

michael Hart: Are you in a new build, as your postcode isn't giving any result? A random postcode picked from Google Maps in Newton Aycliffe is show good coverage from Bilsdale (approximately East-South East) and Pontop Pike (approximately North-North West) which are both in Tyne Tees region. Does your aerial point in either of these directions or to somewhere else? A compass bearing would be great, but approximate direction would otherwise help work out where your signal is coming from.

A. Robertson: Good Morning, A Robertson. There are no reported problems currently at the Hawick Freeview Light television relay transmitter and so I would strongly suggest that you carry out a full check of your reception installation from the aerial itself right through to the fly-lead from the wall aerial socket ('wall-plate') to the tv. Post again to this site if you require more detailed advice. Richard, Norwich.

Brian Gregory: Hi, Brian. You had better direct your query directly to the UK.FREETV website 'webmaster', Mr Brian Butterworth, aka 'Briantist' because I believe that it is he who is responsible for the intralinks on this website. Richard, Norwich.

Richard Cooper: I cannot receive channel 82 Vintage TV and Talking Pictures. I only get 7 HD channels when I think I should be getting 14.
Not sure which transmitter I am on, maybe the Idle or Wharfedale transmitter in Yorkshire
I live in BD5 9EX

Stuart Swaine: Wharfdale is a Light transmitter, so your only going to get the PSB3 mux HD channels. Idle is a full transmitter, but its really no better from the number of HD channels. Have a look at the digitaluk link - Emley Moor is what you'd want, but you'd have to realign your aerial, and the terrain link on this site doesn't even bring that transmitter as an option.

Brian Gregory: Hi, Brian. If you wish to see old comments about radio, do what I just did, i.e. click on Radio from the banner menu on the left of the screen, then click on My Radio Reception and the comments you wish to see will appear. Of course, you also have the opportunity on this UKFREE.TV website to view any or all of the comments you, yourself have made at any time. Just spend a little while longer finding your way around Brian's excellent website, which is easy to navigate around once you are accustomed to it. Richard, Norwich.

Brian Gregory: Hi, Brian. I replied to your post about the website's tendency to revert to Freeview pages when on radio pages yesterday. In my posts, I stated that you specifically need to click on 'Radio' from the left-hand banner menu and then click on 'My Radio Reception' below the Radio' entry. On the other hand, if you wish to see all of the comments, you, yourself have made, you need to click on the 'News' label on the left-hand banner menu, and then click on the 'My Comments' label below that. Try these for yourself! Richard, Norwich.

Earlier this year I posted about picture breakup oh Freeview of HD stations only on my Samsung UE55HU7500 following the advice given which did not improve things I contacted Samsung and my supplier Richer Sounds and got confirmation that changes to the HD transmissions meant Samsung would have to create an update for my TV set which would take some time to prepare and test.
In the mean time RS have been very good and loaned me a HD box to provide me a Freeview HD service.
I am now in receipt of a USB key from Samsung to update the TV which I did this afternoon and we have had no HD picture breakup this evening.
