Briantist: After failing to get ITV1+1 last night, I switched on this morning and it asked if I wanted to retune I agreed and now all is ok! not sure why a retune didn't come up last night, maybe postcode played a part as it was displayed on sreen?

I'm in the Hampden Park area BN22 and have been watching the bowls on the Welsh BBC channel, I'm also getting parliament and a childrens program, as said before, the aerial is a very old (30+ years) high gain used in the past to get BBC2 from Dover, it is now used for analogue reception from Heathfield, I tuned the Freeview channels on a Samsung and got four TV programs and about 17 radio programs. They arn't on all the time especialy at weekends. The question is, are they test transmissions from Heathfield if so the signal is quite good!
Your comments much apreciated.

Another government U-Turn - this time on FM local radio? | DigiFriday 18 February 2011 11:10PM

Funny, I'm hard of hearing and wear hearing aids (unfortunatly),and love music, I find (on our radio at least) DAD far better for me, but, the problem is we have long periods when DAB's keeps breaking up and have to revert to FM, I hope the before the switch over they sort out the problem by increasing the strength of the signal.

Brian: Thanks' so much for a great job! as you know I've only recently found this site.
Can I be checky and ask? Mark Aberfan Aerials
is it possible to connect an aerial that points to a digital Freeview transmiter and connect an analog receiving aerial to the same coax?
Thank you again Brian

Thank you for the reply. The reason is we can't get freeview from Heathfield but can from Hastings and we would still like to use our old analogue Panasonic DVD recorder(won it when they cost £700)we've still got about 16 months before change over and I have just purchased a wide band aerial before prices go up when the rush to switch starts, our faithful narrow band Labgear aerial (purchased for BBC2 from Dover about 40 years ago)is beamed on Heathfield and still gives good results and another down cable is out of the question!
Thanks' again
Alan

Sorry it's so confusing to you Brian Springthorpe but as a 70 somthing myself I thought it was straight forward so here it is again! Arqiva provides satellite distribution of Channel 4 HD to Sky and Freesat, and "FREESAT". I am looking forward to another FREE HD broadcast.

Hi Brian
Being a newbe at this Freesat lark, I'm at a loss to to know why I can't get ITV1+1 by putting in the channel number 112 it keeps reverting back to the channel it was on.
Question do I need to do a return?
Thanks' in advance
