I've never had a tv in this house and we don't have any existing aerial. I've heard the reception is bad around here. Some of our neighbours have dishes; some have aerials. I'd like to be able to get Cbeebies and digital radio station BBC 6 Music. I don't really need anything else. Do you think an aerial would do this? If Freesat would be better, would buying a tv with Freesat or a Freesat box be instead of a dish, or along with it? I can put up a dish on my house, but would rather not as I don't like the look of it. It will cost such a lot to buy all of this stuff - tv, dvd, aerial/dish/box, etc that I want to ensure I will be able to get Cbeebies before I start buying. Thanks for your help. This really is very, very helpful for me.

Also, can you tell me what the difference would be between an aerial and freesat? Since I don't already have an aerial, it might be worth a little extra to get freesat instead? Would an aerial mean a couple of channels and freesat 50+ or something? Or does it mean better reception? Thanks.

Hi. I don't have a tv and am considering buying one so my children can watch CBeebies. We haven't had the digital switchover and won't until the end of next year (we're the last area to get it). Will I need equipment other than a tv that has Freeview in order to get CBeebies? Thanks.
