I see that the Bretch Hill transmitter is announcing a reduced quality in BBC2 since yesterday. I have had a reduced quality for this channel for two weeks now. It is nice of them to catch up.

Another government U-Turn - this time on FM local radio? | DigiMonday 21 February 2011 10:23AM

I live off Lower Cherwell Street in Banbury & my son bought me a new radio. The DAB does not work. Where he lives in Stewkley, it worked perfect. I have similar problems with my TV and often lose channels for weeks at a time. The area is awful for reception as I pick up the Bretch Hill Scanner.

Is anyone else having problems with crackling on all four channels and the radio? It started last Friday on BBC2 with this constant crackle and ceefax dialogue missing. Now it is all four channels and the radio stations 2 and 4.

Dear Miss Washington
Reference CAS-656649-N7DWRJ
Thank you for contacting the BBC about your television reception.
As you may be aware, the Bretch Hill transmitter is a relay of the main Emley Moor site, which is currently running on reduced power. This means that your general signal will be weaker and susceptible to disruption by the weather more than usual.
Work is currently scheduled to continue at Emley Moor until 25 March however it isn't scheduled everyday and generally only during non-peak viewing hours (8am-6pm).
You can find details of current engineering work and known faults by visiting the links provided:

I can only ask for your continued patience with regards to this matter.
I hope this helps to clarify the situation for future reference and thanks for taking the trouble to contact us.
Kind Regards
James Kelly

Banbury
Does anyone else have a problem with BBC2. I have not been able to watch this channel for the past week and early this evening I lost BBC1 too. I live in the centre of Banbury and reception has always been poor.
