Ofcom specifically banned using MPEG4 on DVB-T.
Given that NI is the very last region to switch in the UK, there should be mainly Freeview HD in the shops by then.
Yes, they could have done a MPEG2/DVB-T solution but the coverage would have been poor.

am Kittler-Bazelaire: More4 schedule is not designed to be watched the whole time, but as a complementary channel where you can catch-up with programmes already broadcast, and for this the schedule repeats programmes.

but you can't use the devices you listed.

Conor: The switchover schedule has been planned as it is for about six years, and cannot be changed as there are only a certain number of engineers employed to do the multi-billion pound works.
Ofcom is cannot be "sued" as it is the regulator and is set up in law to make the decisions.
And it's not Ofcom that is causing 4G delays, but the mobile phone companies bickering in court about it.
