mrdtv: Technically speaking, the fire at Oxford was the first big DSO cockup Oxford transmitter fire | ukfree.tv - independent free digital TV advice - given that the Prime Minister uses the transmitter.

mrdtv: There do seems to be lots of people posting that they can't get BBCA and problems with analogue. I expect Arqiva must be on the case.

tony: Yes, this does seem to be the case. I suspect the old advice "do not adjust your set" is problem the best thing to do for the moment.

btb: The NIT for each multiplex is carried on the multiplex. It is the index for the service provided and it is, as I recall, hamming encoded for extra protection.

Dave Lindsay: If you have a Freeview HD or other D-Book 7 compatible receiver, it will present a menu of regions when you retune. Older boxes allocate the lowest frequencies first.

Bill: Hemdean was expected to start broadcasting a digital service for the first time at 9am this morning. If you had Freeview before you would have been using the main transmitter, and yes, the signal for BBCA has been boosted.
