Dave: There is no reason why it should go to Channel 5 HD, for one thing Channel 5 has to apply.
This is an extra channel on the same multiplex, so it will appear on ALL transmitters (except those with analogue-only).

Ben: The multiplex was always called "BBCB". The frequencies for everything, aside from BBC TWO/BBCA/Mux 1, do not change for two more weeks.

S Shaw: Either your box is tuned to the Belmont transmitter, or your equipment detected the switchover event and retuned itself.

Betamax_man: It doesn't matter if you can "see" the transmitter, it is NOT intended to provide service in the direction of York. Of course it could, but the DAB local multiplexes are based around the concept of serving particular counties and it necessary for the frequency reuse that the coverage does not leak from the defined regions as this would impact on the ability of other the other regions that use the allocated frequency.

Gary Plank: If you mean Multiplex D/ArqB (there is no "MUX 4"):
" Arqiva B will remain on its pre-switchover channel (50+) until late 2011, and then temporarily move to channel 63 (at 2.2kW ERP), before adopting its final allocation of channel 56 during mid-2012".
The best thing to do with an amplifier after switchover is to remove it from the system, they usually make reception worse.
