E.P.Cox: You should have excellent reception now, you probably need to check your aerial and cables are OK. It is unlikely that switchover will make any difference.

Thomas: Yes, you were lucky, there was an Inversion effect which caused the signal to go beyond their usual coverage.
The radiation patterns were computed and agreed many years ago.

Tim: If you have a booster or amplifier, try removing it from your system. If you don't, you may have to fit an attenuator. Also check the Single frequency interference | ukfree.tv - independent free digital TV advice page.

Roderick Morrison: You will need to find the short. It is most likely to be a poorly made connection at one end of the cable or other, but it could be a broken LNB.
