This was four weeks when the process started, but this was felt to be too long.
Two weeks allows for the retailers to have enough extra stock of Freeview boxes.
The period is not for testing, this is done overnight a few months before switchover where it deemed necessary.
On most transmitters the "new equipment" has been broadcasting the old analogue services prior to switchover.

Jim Flooks: No, there will be no increases in signals until the day of switchover.
Multiplex D is so-called because it has the lowest signal level and coverage level.

David Fitzpatrick: The card does not require activating.
It shouldn't cost too much to have your dish checked and realigned if you use a local professional installer.

Pablo: Most people complain that the "+1" channels are a waste as they do not provide any additional choice of programmes to watch.
