DAB maps - another update
Wednesday 20 July 2011 10:13PM

Ash: Thanks for that.

There is now a new DAB section at DAB - Digital Audio Broadcasting | ukfree.tv - independent free digital TV advice .

The coverage maps need a little work still...

daniel: Sorry, I didn't see it there at the bottom of the list, I thought I had already deleted it.

Matt: The data all comes from Ofcom, any errors in the names of stations comes directly from the data source.

Matt: I will look into the idea of the site showing the direction to the transmitter.

Will: The line shows the border of the 7.94328234724E-12 watts area, which is -81 dBm. Or at least it should be showing that.

All DAB transmitters
Thursday 21 July 2011 8:28AM

Ash: Yes, *ALL* of the data comes from the http://stakeholders.ofcom.org.uk/binaries/broadcast/guidance/tech-guidance/tech-parameters/dab.csv file automatically.

The "In-Use ERP Total" is used only when there is no value in "Dir Max ERP". I will have a look a at changing the data to use the former in all cases if you think it is more accurate.

I am using the above file automatically without any modification, rather than applying any updates. I might have to add another database into play to do "corrections", as I note that there is still "BBC7" in there and also errors such as "XFM" and "X F M".
