liam boyle: It is quite possible you have too much signal, and should have used a smaller aerial. You may have to fit an attenuator.

lee: You can compare the frequencies you are receiving services on (if your box or TV will tell you) with those in use by the transmitter.

Or, you can look at the direction your aerial points.

Mike Dimmick: Sorry to point this out, but it was my actual job when I worked for BT Broadcast Services once to put in all the fibre-optic system that is used to feed all the Freeview transmitters with their multiplexes.
The sites are fed using diverse-routed fibre links from the nearest couple of exchanges, where they pick up the data feeds from the multiplexing source via the Synchronous Digital Hierarchy, the SDH, which allows you to, for large sums of money, patch together such system without having to run in fibre for the whole route.
Only the BBC use satellite as a backup-of-last-resort for DTT.

lee: You will get the services your aerial provides, it depends on the direction it points and the aerial group.

It is the Lichfield transmitter that has the "preview" Freeview HD service at the moment, and you unlikey to be able to receive that.

If you want Freeview HD, move your aerial to get a signal from the Nottingham transmitter, and wait two weeks.
