Davyblue: You can pick up the free-to-air channels, but Freesat also includes an EPG and MHEG5 services, which your box will not provide.

Terry: You will need to call Sky if you have Sky Sports or Sky Movies. Otherwise they just work.

Dean: Yes, the COM changes should improve things.
I'm wondering if your set is actually picking up the COMs from Wenvoe, rather than Mendip?
Can you trying deleting all your channels and then doing a "manual add" using the above frequencies?

ConorMcDermott: UKTV is a joint venture between the BBC and (now) Virgin Television.
Dave and Yesterday are not on Freesat, as the contract the Sky use to have pay channels in their EPG do not allow them to have a mixture of pay and free channels.
I'm not sure if Channel 4 has the cash to buy out Virgin Television from UKTV.

ian: Did we get to the bottom of why you could not use the Nottingham transmitter? You are predicted to get perfect reception from it.
