It seems that akismet wanted 53.40 but their website is only working on the iPad....
I think I've managed to mop up the mess that this caused. Hopefully no useful posts went adrift...

Steve Donaldson: Yes, I've managed to pay 53.40 pounds to Akismet as they had disabled their service.
I need to use an iPad to access their system at the moment, so I was unable to make the payment over the weekend.
I have attempted to clean up the problems it caused.
