BBC ONE HD is a national channel, as the regional opt outs would require all fifteen versions to be carried on satellite.
Sky box's can't do the switch yet, even though it would be a very obvious solution.

Keith Edgerley: Actually no, a digital recorder just takes the bits from the broadcast and stores them, you can't adjust the "quality" as this would require the device to decode and then recode the recording.
