If you are using the Hannington transmitter, you would get the poor reception you describe.

Overcast weather has no effect on reception at all.

ALAN PEACHEY: I am glad to hear that! There is no longer a clash going on, so everything should be stable for the next few years. At least until the 4G mobile services start up!

Stuart: Interesting. As the HD channels are carried together on a single multiplex, you would not expect problems with one service and everything else be OK.
I have a PC here that uses WMC on Windows 7 and all four channels (BBC One HD, BBC HD, ITV 1 HD and Channel 4 HD) perform OK.
I must admit that they didn't before the video card was upgraded on this particular machine.

Freeview was turned off last night from midnight to 6am, so you would not have any service.

Jenny Senior: I would try doing My Freeview box has no EPG, is blank on FIVE, ITV3, ITV4, ITV2+1, has no sound or the channel line up is wrong | ukfree.tv - independent free digital TV advice . You should be able to receive all services.

Clive: You will need to see if you have any devices causing the interference. You can only really do this by disconnecting things until you work out what is causing the problem.
It can sometimes be as simple as a degraded "aerial fly cable" which you can replace for a few pounds.
