Mike: Have you tried the three things above? If so, then the problem could be a fault with the box, or with the LNB output the box is using.

ARNOLD JACKSON: Yes, you can watch the fSfS (not Freeview) channels, but you can't record/play/pause without a subscription.

Scott: You may be getting a retune message because there have been changes to the channel line up, rather than switchover.

Tracy: Sometimes you can do this, it depends on the TV. You would probably be better off putting the sound though an external amplifier, but you need to check the TV manual.
SPDIF is the best quality (digital) sound you can get from the Virgin box.
