Chris.SE: I have (finally) added a backend system to report missed spam posts to Askimet. It's a bit annoying that it still misses them.
And yes, the mostly seem to be from a US-based IP addresses.

Chris.SE: The Captcha is provided by Google, so there's not much I can do about it.
I did try to remove the need for it, but the Askimet service is not able to correctly identify the spam posted.
Perhaps I can find a different Captcha?

Chris.SE: The site was not working due to problems I wasn't able to resolve.
I have created a new server and upgraded the code to work with PHP8.4 and - touch wood - so this server is 100% new, but I've not been able to get the email system (using AWS SES) to work yet.
I will endeavour to fix the problems you describe.
The email message faults I've never quite got to the bottom of where they are being mangled.
There is a single piece of code that does the transmitter name mapping, so I would expect them all to be wrong.
