nick horrex: Yes.

The User Guide for the HDS-600RS states:

"The Settings menu allows you to configure the unit and to set personal preferences"

Under Settings -Tuning Preferences - Regional channel customisation

is the option to "Choose different regional channels to those assigned during setup."

You have evidently changed 101 BBC ONE Ln HD to 101 BBC ONE EstHD.

nick horrex:

For some reason, when you last carried out a Freesat tune, a region could not be assigned to your postcode

When this happens, a Default region is used

Your box has the channel list of the Default region:

England HD - Default
LCN ServiceName
101 BBC ONE Ln HD
102 BBC TWO HD
103 ITV1 HD [London]
104 Channel 4 HD [London]
105 Channel 5 HD

109 BBC ALBA HD

david faulkner:

Just re-read your post and don't get it.

Channel 5 HD audio is 2 channel L/R on terrestrial but 5.1 surround on satellite.

Are you saying the audio off terrestrial is rendered as 5.1 surround?

The sample I uploaded has stereo audio only.

Play it back with MPC-HC in windows and look at the right-click properties, and also, the LAV audio decoder properties - lots to play with there.

David: Both uploaded samples have exactly the same stereo audio. Do they exhibit bogus 5.1 channel audio when played back on your telly? Does the Denon indicate the format that it is receiving?

Chris.SE:

Looks like a pretty common PSU - 12V DC 1A - doubt it's worth the effort/cost of fixing - haven't you got a box full of them like me? Or buy a new one.

The good thing about the box is you can record off it to USB - and it ain't encrypted!

The bad thing is it's got no EPG for the BBC B multiplex.

We can thank the BBC for that!

So, if you can get it running again, maybe you could upload some sample recordings.

Then again, maybe not!
