Why are all the digital switchovers done in TWO stages, with the need to retune twice and the rather curious neither-one-thing-nor-the-other situation for two weeks between the two dates? Why don't we just have one big retune on the second date (ie 18 April 2012 for Crystal Palace)?
Apologies if this is obvious to anyone with a technical understanding of all this - but it seems unduly cumbersome to me.

Regarding changes to analogue channels during Crystal Palace (CP) switchover:
It states on this page above that "ITV-1 analogue swaps to C33. BBC TWO analogue C23 closes."
But BBC2 analogue is currently (11/3/12) on C33 (not C23) - a typo? Did you mean that ITV1 analogue moves from C23 to C33, replacing BBC2, which will close?
Your coverage predictor does not show ITV1 analogue on ANY channel from CP between 4/4/12-18/4/12. (Example using a random central London postcode: Find out how to receive Freeview and Freeview HD at WC1E7HT | ukfree.tv - independent free digital TV advice Is this an omission, or will there be just TWO analogue channels (BBC1 & Ch4) during the CP switchover period (contrary to above)?
