Unfortunately no information is given regarding how long the work is expected to take.

Michael Pettitt: This is an independent technical help website, nobody here has any connection to Sky (or any other broadcaster) nor do we have access to any future schedule information beyond what is published in printed or online TV listings, which can be found on various website such as the links below:

Harry Kenyon : You're probably receiving one of the 1,000+ Freeview Lite (relay) transmitters that exist to fill gaps in area that aren't covered by a main transmitter. If you provide a full postcode, we can check what you are predicted to receive and may be able to offer further advice.

David Chisnall: The Huntshaw Cross transmitter, which is predicted to be available at your postcode (and is also the parent transmitter of the Barnstaple relay) is listed as having engineering work taking place this week. Unfortunately no information is given regarding what sort of work is taking place or how long it is expected to last.

nick horrex: Your Sky box already receives all the same channels that are on on Freesat, plus a good few more free to air channels which aren't on Freesat. No retuning is required.

nick horrex: Sky and Freesat boxes receive exactly the same transmissions from the same satellites. All BBC and most ITV channels are now only broadcast in HD only on satellite, it is not possible to receive them on a non-HD box. There is no subscription required to watch any BBC channels in HD, they are all broadcast free to air, you just need to replace your ancient Sky box with something more modern.

James Murdoch: The Selkirk transmitter currently has planned engineering work taking place, which may require the signal levels to be reduced temporarily whilst the work takes place, which will could potentially reduce the signal strength being received by the Peebles relay to a level too low for the multiplex to be received successfully. Unfortunately no completion date is given, nor are there any details as to what the work involves.

Beverley : Unfortunately no information is given regarding what work is taking place or how long it is expected to take. Most transmitter towers are several decades old and may well require extensive maintenance to keep them in a safe operating condition, which probably involves work which can only be safely carried out when the transmitter is operating at reduced power and/or using it's reserve antenna (which are often located lower down resulting in reduced coverage).
