It is a great shame that the BBC had a monopoly of Olympics coverage. Some of their commentary was awful, some of their programming decisions were awful, and the red button guide was often plain wrong. If the other channels had been allowed access to the video streams at least we would have had a choice.

Very helpful information in this post.
For newbies to multi satellite dish system operation I would suggest getting a copy of "What Satellite" magazine or similar for lots of useful information. Once the dish is aligned the control system ( often but not always built in to the decoder ) will find all the satellites for you.

Congratulations to Buzz for providing the best answer so far in this post. Multisat users will already have most of the bits needed in their setup, but as they say "knowledge is priceless".
Just to clarify, we are talking about International Eurosport here ( analogue or digital ), and a digital only sound signal.

I live in Marlow, Bucks. and have been experiencing occasional freeview picture and sound interference in the last few weeks - eg on BBC1.
How can I discover what is causing this please? ie is it the Crystal Palace transmission, 4G 800, or other interference?

I agree with George. Something at Crystal Palace must have changed since Christmas - possibly a less powerful signal to save on electricity.
My problem is only occasional - every week or so - and then only in patches of a second or two at a time, resulting in a blocky picture and lost sound.
It could be the aerial connections as suggested by Briantist's link, but it seems strange that I am not the only one where this has happened since Christmas.

Referring to my post on 25 May 2013 regarding an occasional blocky picture and lost sound from Crystal Palace, it seems that the cause is likely to be interference from incorrectly suppressed electric equipment, such as cars and motorbikes. A lower signal strength from Crystal Palace will obviously make the situation worse, although not directly causing it.

Your article says at the beginning "you cannot subscribe to the digital packages from the UK"
It is against EU law to discriminate between EU citizens in this way, ( see recent case won by landlady of pub) so you certainly have a legal right to subscribe to other EU country offerings from the UK if you are a private individual.
Nevertheless, it would be helpful if one could get the English commentary via freesat or digital radio, or even over the web. I do speak German, but the commentary is generally not as good.
