By the way, re. COM7, I live in N Wales with a line-of-sight view of Winter Hill which is 39 miles away and I get perfect reception.

We have a Panasonic TV with a sound bar. What I find a problem is the very intrusive music that accompanies many documentary and wildlife programmes, which drowns out the commentary, such that we have to turn on subtitles. The worst of these is incessant drumming which seems to accompany many BBC programmes and is exacerbated by the excellent bass response of our sound system. We do not have a problem with normal speech and music programmes. Maybe the sound 'designers' have hearing problems at the bottom end?
I suppose that we could revert to the tinny sound of the speakers in the TV!

Has anyone noticed a 'time delay' problem with BBC R4 on Holme Moss? We have two bedside radios, one tuned to Holme Moss and the other to Llangollen. When both are playing there's a noticeable 'echo' to the sound. If I retune to Sutton Coldfield and Holme Moss the problem persists, but not when tuned to Sutton Coldfield and Llangollen, which probably isn't surprising as I suspect that Llangollen retransmits the R4 signal from SC. Strangely, there isn't a problem with any of the other national services from HM and Llangollen. I've only noticed the problem recently, and I note from the BBC Engineering website that they refer to 'issues' with these transmitters.

B Smith: I had similar problems as I did a simple update. When I did a full auto rescan of my TV (Panasonic) and Humax, everything worked fine.

The missing programmes have just reappeared on UHF channel 32 which now carries programmes previously on 55. Nice of them to let us know.
Brianist - can we please have an update!

As I understand it, it's 125kW horizontally polarised plus 125kW vertically polarised, so that it can cover all aerial orientations.
